Ipinawalang-bisa ng Manila Regional Trial Court ang termino ni Alice Guo o Guo Hua Ping bilang alkalde ng Bamban, Tarlac noong Lunes, Hunyo 30.
“Guo Hua Ping is undoubtedly a Chinese citizen. The Court concludes that respondent is not only disqualified to hold the position of Mayor of Bamban, Tarlac, but also from running the said position in the first place,” saad sa desisyon ng korte.
“Responded Guo Hua Ping a.k.a. Alice Leal Guo is found disqualified from and is hereby adjudged guilty of usurping and exercising the Office of the Mayor of Bamban, Tarlac. Accordingly, she is hereby ousted and altogether excluded therefrom,” saad sa desisyon ng Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 34.
Nakulong si Guo ng halos 10 buwan dahil sa non-bailable na kasong qualified human trafficking, na may kinalaman sa illegal operation ng Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) sa Bamban.
