Inihayag ni House Secretary General Reginald Velasco sa media nitong Huwebes, Hunyo 19, na hindi dadalo si Vice President Sara Duterte sa ika-apat na State of the Nation Address (SONA) ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa darating na Hulyo 28.
“We are not excluding the possibility that she will attend so there will be a seat for her reserved at the center [House plenary] of the gallery, the VIP gallery,” sabi ni House Secretary General Reginald Velasco.
Ayon kay Velasco, nakatanggap sila ng liham mula sa Office of the Vice President (OVP) kung saan nakasaad na hindi pupunta si VP Sara sa SONA ni Pangulong Marcos Jr.
Gayunpaman, sinabi ni Velasco na: “If she decides to come, there will be a seat for her and her immediate staff… We will designate a holding room for our Vice President and her staff.”
Samantala, ito ang pangalawang beses na hindi dadalo ang Bise Presidente sa SONA ng Pangulo matapos niyang hindi rin pumunta noong 2024.
“No, I will not attend the SONA. I am appointing myself as the designated survivor,” ani VP Sara noong nakaraang taon.
