The House of Representatives is unaffected by attempts to belittle and discredit the accomplishments of Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez who steered the House of Representatives to become the most productive in the country’s legislative history and secure high public satisfaction and trustworthiness ratings, according to Rep. Jose “Bong” Joson Teves Jr of the Talino at Galing ng Pinoy (TGP) Party-list.

“Maraming nang gumigiba kay Speaker this early but the members of the House are not affected because his accomplishments can speak for themselves. His critics have been relentless in throwing shades at him but one can never put a good man down. As far as I am concerned he is doing a great job, “ said Teves.

Teves said that Speaker Romualdez was correct not to waste his time responding to innuendos and provocations that are all meant to derail his leadership because his survey ratings are solid indicators that the majority of Filipinos are happy and supportive of his programs and legislative priorities.

Only last March, private polling, research, and consultation firm Octa Research declared that Speaker Romualdez secured high performance and trustworthiness ratings at 59 percent to show that most Filipinos support his leadership.

Speaker Romualdez and the House of Representatives as an institution also registered high public satisfaction ratings in the recent Social Weather Station survey. Romualdez recorded a high 51 percent public satisfaction rating while the House of Representatives got an impressive +56 percent.

“The members of Congress, whether you are a member of the minority or the majority, have a deeper sense of pride because most Filipinos now see us with greater respect because we have now have a House of Representatives that works so hard for the greater good of our people and our nation,” Teves said.

“We will continue to work the election is just one year , presidential election is still far, we urge agencies to perform well and work hard for social services. Everyone is enjoined to help the country’s the biggest mandate given to an elected president. We have the duty to help our kababayans after this pandemic . Tigilan na ang pamumulitika. Let’s work hard for our people,” Teves added.
